Common faults of frequency converters

May 16, 2023

1. Overcurrent faults

Overcurrent faults can be divided into acceleration, deceleration and constant speed overcurrent. It may be caused by the acceleration and deceleration time of the inverter being too short, sudden changes in the load, uneven load distribution, short-circuiting of the output, etc. This can generally be done by extending the acceleration and deceleration time, reducing the sudden change of load, adding energy braking elements, carrying out load distribution design, and checking the line. If disconnect the load inverter or overcurrent fault, it means that the inverter inverter circuit has been ring, the need to replace the inverter.

2. Overload fault

Overload faults include inverter overload and motor overload. Its possible that the acceleration time is too short, the grid voltage is too low, the load is too heavy and other reasons caused by. Generally, you can extend the acceleration time, extend the braking time, check the grid voltage, etc. The load is too heavy and the selected motor and inverter cannot tow the load, which may also be caused by poor mechanical lubrication. Such as the former must replace the high-power motor and inverter; such as the latter to the production machinery to overhaul.

3. Under voltage

It means that there is a problem with the power input part of the inverter, which needs to be checked before it can run.
